5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful CD - a MUST have: BEST Snoop since Doggstyle, October 31, 2000

I just got this CD NEW at midnight tonight. It comes with a cool cardboard cover with a picture of Snoop Dogg on it to go over your jewel case - very nice extra. I wish more CD's would do this, especially 2Pac's new once (collectable). (Point of reference) Doggystyle - 5/5 Mics Doggfather - 3.5 / 5 Mics

Dead Man Walkin - 4/5 Mics (in relation)

This CD is the tightest Snoop album to drop since Doggystyle. It *almost* matches it but due to 1 or 2 lousy tracks, it loses a mic. Track # 8 stands out by far, which was produced by Daz and is by far the tighest of them all. They rap over 2Pac's "Homeboyz" beat and Kurupt tears the whole track up, sort of making it seem like Kurupt (feat. Snoop Dogg). Track #4 is also off the hook, along with 1,2, and 3 and the rest of the CD. There are only about 3 wack songs on the CD which were obviously space fillers and originally Snoop Dogg rejects, but those are overlooked from the hardcore oldstyle of Snoop *Doggy* Dogg songs that the... 5.0 out of 5 stars I'm surprised at the quality!!, November 5, 2000
This review is from: Dead Man Walkin (Audio CD)
When i first heard that Death Row would be releasing "Dead Man Walkin" i thought right away that it would be nothing more than an album full of wack songs to lower Snoop's image--

But to my own surprise, the album ended up being one of my best purcheses this year! Dead Man Walkin is an album of unreleased Snoop Dogg material from his Death Row era, which is considered his golden era. Ever since Snoop left Death Row for No Limit, alot of his fans we're left with nothing more than Southern Rap and very few West Coast cuts on his albums, which left them wanting more. This album is what those fans want, the old Snoop Dogg. Most of the songs on this album are great, even though some of them aren't so great you can still listen to them.

Its hard to say which album will be better: Dead Man Walkin' or the soon to be released, Tha Last Meal. I for one am getting both, if you really can't have both, just look at the reviews Tha Last Meal will receive when its released and compare... Read more

    4.0 out of 5 stars His 3rd best CD..., November 13, 2005

After Doggystyle (#1) and Tha Doggfather (#2), this is Snoop's 3rd best CD. It was downplayed in the public because Snoop did not WANT anyone to buy it, since it was from his Death Row years. Most of these songs are old though, and tight as hell. Hardly anybody has this CD, but it is way better than Tha Last Meal (which was released at almost the same exact time and made much more public because that is the CD that Snoop WANTED people to buy). Lots of controversy around this CD, but I am a huge Snoop fan and I think this is his third best. Too bad he didn't want anyone to get it, because I did, and I still love it. I'm listening to Tha Last Meal right now and I don't like it half as much as this one.
