True Blood: The Complete Fourth Season

Product Description

True Blood is the sexy, scary, wildly entertaining drama series from Oscar®- and Emmy®-winning Alan Ball (HBO’s Six Feet Under), and based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris. Mixing romance, suspense, mystery and humor, True Blood tells the continuing tale of Sookie (Anna Paquin, Golden Globe-winner for this role), a human waitress with telepathic gifts – and a so-far irresistible attraction to 174-year-old vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer). Surrounded by familiar faces – including her brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten), shape-shifting boss Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell), soul-searching pal Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley), Tara’s cousin Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis); police chief Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer), vampire suitor Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) and teen vamp Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) – Sookie faces some new otherworldly threats in this season – as if vampires, werewolves, werepanthers and shapeshifters weren’t enough!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best "TRUE BLOOD" season to date!, September 15, 2011
For many reasons, season 4 far exceeded my expectations. I have loved the series from day one, but season 4 took us to a much darker place filled with surprises and shock.
One truly standout character was Marnie (played with finesse by Fiona Shaw). She has been the best villain (for lack of a better word)of the series thus far. It gave our beloved characters some great story lines to explore, and all were acted brilliantly.
I loved the dark fairy world Sookie was taken to in the season premiere. Anna Paquin has really found the character of Sookie and embraced it. She is a wonderful actress who never fails to deliver.
The plot with Lafayette & Jesus was benign and sweet all at the same time and their relationship really came full circle (a rare thing on this series).
Some of the story lines seemed out of place, in particular the Jason/Were-Panther/rape plot, but it ended and was only briefly mentioned thereafter.
I have loved the character of Tara, but... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Vampires, Witches, & Werewolfs Oh My!, December 14, 2011
    Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
I'm a fan of both the TV series and the books, and as the show progresses it goes farther and farther from the books, but that isn't really a bad thing. In the fourth season there is the usual amount of vampire and werewolf drama, but now adds witches to the mix as well. I loved the casting of Fiona Shaw this season. I don't want to give away too many spoilers, but I really liked the storylines for Jessica this season, as well as Sookie spending her time with someone other then Bill. The one really weak point of the season, in my opinion, was Tara, as it didn't really seem like she fit anywhere inparticular.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really Great Season and an Improvement on the Last, February 24, 2012
This review is from: True Blood: The Complete Fourth Season (DVD)
After the kitchen-sink approach of season three, season four of True Blood went back to basics in many ways. Maybe the writers saw the need to have more cohesive stories this year (In fact, a couple of the commentators on the season three DVDs mentioned their desire to have things be more contained writing-wise). That I feel was the major flaw of the still deliciously entertaining third season. But, season four reminded me of the first season in some ways. Things stayed in Bon Temps and everyone was much more involved with each other. I really enjoyed how everyone became intertwined again.

So, the Big Bad for this season is technically two women: a timid medium named Marnie (Fiona Show) who becomes possessed with the vengeful spirit of an Inquisition-era witch Antonia (Paula Turbay). Marnie was an interesting villain; much more vulnerable and humanized than Maryann or Russell Edgington or even Rene. She was so shy and meek that she had to become possessed by a witch to find... Really like this show. However, Season one is on instant netflix and AMC runs the episode the week before for free (with commercials) on their website.

This episode specifically, like one other reviewer posted, is definitely in the top 3 of the series. I despise the director for these unbearable cliff hangers, but each installment always delivers, so it's worth the suspense in the end. This is definitely one series worth watching. It's come at the perfect time to tap into the rising zombie fad as well. The best part about the show is that the zombie apocalypse is only the setting, not the story in and of itself. Good character development and suspense put this one, in my opinion, just a notch above Romero (be gentle).

After years of packing lunches in lunch boxes that were vertical I am glad to have found this lunchbox system! In the past, packing a sandwich and applesauce vertically meant a squished sandwich and applesauce that was all over the lid of the container and maybe even leaking, and that always made a mess. Finally, not only do I have a clever 3-part container to pack food in, but a lunchbox designed to hold it all - level! I love the three part compartment because I can pack a sandwich or main dish with two side items then snap on the lid. I get three compartments with lids with only two pieces, instead of some other systems that would have a separate lid for each compartment. I cannot wash and keep up with six pieces for each lunch box multiplied by the four lunch boxes we need! 24 pieces to pack lunch?? No way! Now, it's one bottom, one lid, one level lunch box. And everyone has their own color of lunch box so they can find it easily. When I pack lunches now, I put in the food... Read more

This is for the lunch box AND the containers...

Purchased 3 of the lunch boxes and 2 sets (8 total)of the containers that go with it back in August 2011. I was worried about the size of the lunch box but the containers fit perfectly with room for other snacks and a Thermos. It is not water proof. I usually will put those items in a smaller container that has a good seal on it. The containers are deeper than those brands you can get at the grocery store and much sturdier! You could stack 2 PB&J's. I do wash them in the dishwasher and they have not discolored. Can't say enough how much easier lunch making is and I was pretty good at it to begin with, toot-toot. I LOVE that the lunch boxes are machine washable. I washed them in a front load machine on delicate and let them air dry. They kept their shape and look brand new! Has a metal ring on handle for attaching a name tag. I used a clip-on key chain and also added a small hand sanitizer that clips on as well (from B&BW).

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for school lunches, August 4, 2011

This review is from: EasyLunchboxes Insulated Lunch Box Cooler Bag, Purple (Kitchen)
I've been looking into lunchboxes for bento-style lunches for my kids and found options to be too expensive or inadequate in terms of keeping items in the lunch separated. I purchased the easy lunchbox plastic containers and this cute purple bag to hold them. It is small enough for a grade-schooler to carry and the simple design ensures that I won't have to buy new bags as my kids' taste in decor change. The only issue I have with it is that the zipper is slightly hard to close (This is the reason for the 4-star rating, but it really is not a big deal, my 4 year old could do it with a little practice). I'd recommend this product.
